- At a cost of half a billion dollars each, the B-2 Stealth
- bomber must be a lot more than "virtually" undetectable by an
- enemy's radar (NATION, July 31). It must be nothing less than
- 100% invisible. Megabucks for something that doesn't quite do
- what it's supposed to is a huge minus for the national wallet.

- There is only one way to make sure that the B-2 Stealth
- bomber can remain totally invisible to the Soviets at an
- acceptable cost to the U.S. taxpayer: cancel this program --
- now!

- Congressional critics condemn the Stealth bomber as too
- expensive. What are they considering as a cheaper alternative
- -- disposable bombers with throwaway flight crews? In the final
- analysis, the most economical weapon is the one that is so
- clearly superior that it will never have to be used.
