  3.     At a cost of half a billion dollars each, the B-2 Stealth
  4. bomber must be a lot more than "virtually" undetectable by an
  5. enemy's radar (NATION, July 31). It must be nothing less than
  6. 100% invisible. Megabucks for something that doesn't quite do
  7. what it's supposed to is a huge minus for the national wallet.

  11.     There is only one way to make sure that the B-2 Stealth
  12. bomber can remain totally invisible to the Soviets at an
  13. acceptable cost to the U.S. taxpayer: cancel this program --
  14. now!

  18.     Congressional critics condemn the Stealth bomber as too
  19. expensive. What are they considering as a cheaper alternative
  20. -- disposable bombers with throwaway flight crews? In the final
  21. analysis, the most economical weapon is the one that is so
  22. clearly superior that it will never have to be used.
